Abstract

Cervical tuberculosis is a rare form of genital tuberculosis that can mimic cervical cancer. We report a case of pseudo-tumoral tuberculosis of the cervix in a young woman aged 20, nulliparous, with no particular history, who consulted for post-coital vaginal bleeding with pelvic pain in a context of secondary amenorrhea of ??three years. Clinical examination reveals an enlarged cervix, irregular, inflammatory in appearance, bleeding on contact. Visual tests (5% acetic acid and Lugol inspection) were positive. The
biopsy carried out with histopathological examination revealed a gigantocellular epitheloid granuloma with a necrotic caseous center, thus confirming the diagnosis of tuberculosis. The anti-tuberculosis treatment initiated allowed rapid regression of the signs with complete recovery after 3 months. The interest of this observation lies in the importance of the biopsy with  anatomopathological examination of suspicious lesions of the cervix in order to correct the diagnosis and avoid any inappropriate invasive surgical procedure.
