Myomectomy of necessity at the caesarean section about 16 cases at the teaching hospital of Cocody and literature review

Abstract
Background: Not enough studies about the absoluted necessity of myomectomy during c-section at the CHU de Cocody.
Objectives: To report our experience and highlight the feasibility conditions of necessity myomectomy during the c-section.
Method: It's a retrospective descriptive study. It took place at the maternity of teaching hospital of Cocody over a period of 3 years from January 1, 2015 to December 31, 2017. Results: We recorded 16 patients who underwent myomectomy during caesarean section delivery of 5695 c-sections, ie approximately 0.3%. Patients were 32 years old ago, average with gravida two and parity
one. Nulliparians were predominant (56.25%). The diagnosis of uterine fibroids was mainly made during pregnancy (87%). It was mostly located on the inferior segment of gravid uterus (81.25%). The myomectomy was decided in the intra operative time, because of difficulties concerning the fetal extraction or the hysterorraphy. Hemostasis difficulties were observed in 68.75% of cases. No immediate and late postoperative complications have been reported. The length of hospital stay was three days in
average. No maternal deaths were found. Conclusion: Myomectomy during cesarean section should be performed exceptionally and for specific indications
