Prognostic factors for immediate postpartum hemorrhage at the bogodogo university hospital in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso.

Abstract
Objective : To study the prognostic factors for immediate post-partum haemorrhage at CHU/B from January 2021 to June 2022.
Patients and method : This was a historical cohort study with descriptive and analytical aims carried out in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology and Reproductive Medicine at CHU/B from 1 January 2021 to 30 June 2022. Data were collected retrospectively. Results : The incidence of post-partum haemorrhage at CHU-B during the study period was 1.6%. The profile of patients who developed PPH was as follows : average age 27.9 ± 6.2 years, housewives 62.1%, multiparous (31,1%) and from Ouagadougou 92.7%. Morbidity related to HPPI affected 40.41% of patients, with a predominance of severe anaemia. The case fatality rate was 23.07%. The prognostic factors were origin outside Ouagadougou (OR=6,94), dizziness (OR=15), deterioration in general condition (OR=44,1), low blood pressure (OR=3,5), bladder catheterisation (OR=0,04) and cardiovascular collapse (OR=25).
Conclusion : Immediate post-partum haemorrhage remains a serious complication of Child Birth.
