Abstract

Objective: Study the epidemiological, diagnostic and therapeutic aspects of the association breast cancer and pregnancy at the CNHU-HKM of Cotonou.


Study method: We conducted a five-year retrospective study from October 1, 2012 to September 30, 2017 at the CNHU of Cotonou


Results: The frequency of CSAG was 2.9% (6cases/204). The average age of the patients was 33,17 years with extremes of 28 and 37 years. The tumor was superior or equal to 5cm in 4cases, was discovered in the third trimester of pregnancy in 50% and the average time to diagnostic was 7,5 months. The main histological type was invasive ductal adenocarcinoma (83,3%). All the patients benefited of chemotherapy and mastectomy and axillary dissection. Hormono therapy (RH +), targeted therapy (HER +) and radiotherapy have been performed in addition for others. We noticed two cases of local recurrence and one case of death.


Conclusion: Breast cancer associated with pregnancy is a relatively rare condition. It is discovered at advanced stages. His care is delicate and remains multidisciplinary.
