Abstract
Maternal mortality in the gynecology of obstetrical service in National hospital Donka of university teaching hospital of Conakry (Guinea).
Objective: To determine maternal mortality rate in hospital, describe the social and demographic background of deceased women and identify causes of death. A five year ago retrospective and analytic study conducted in the gynecology obstetric service of Donka of CHU Conakry, 1st January 2002 to 31 December 2006. The rate of the maternal mortality was 1517.8 for100 000 births in life. Mean age of patients was 25. Mull para were 30, 58% of study cases. Deaths were noticed cook (71, 72%). Illiterate (73, 8%), married (80, 59%), and evacuees (51, 05%). Hemorrhage (29, 78%), were the direct main obstetric causes and malaria (50.85%) were the main indirect cause Age, analphabetism, parity, badly follow prenatal consultation and treatment are the risk factor. Organization of the consultation based at the pregnancy women and pregnancy assurance can reduce the maternal mortality.
