Abstract

Objective: Evaluate the pre-cancerous injuries of the cervix in obstetric gynecology at University Hospital Center of Libreville.
Method: This was a cross-cutting, descriptive and interventional study on sexually active women who were involved in the screening of cervical cancer and who agreed to participate in the study.
Results: The data are entered in the text, tables and graphs on the Word and Excel 2016 software and the data analysis was carried out on SPSS 20 software. The average age of women screened was 39 years, extremes 15 and 84 years. Most of them were single,
multigestures, pauciparous and multipares with early sexual activity between 12 and 17 years of age, using no contraception with a history of chlamydia infection. The overall rate of IVA and IVL positivity was 27%. Colposcopy examination was systematic in all women with a positive test. In this sample, the pre-cancerous injuries were 1.8% with a predominance of low-grade dysplasia to 1.2% and collar cancer accounted for 0.5%.

Conclusion: Organized cervical cancer screening is feasible in our country. It shows low-grade lesions that are better treated and without major complications.
